HOMEOWNER AND RENTER ASSISTANCE FOR SENIORS
NOW AVAILABLE AT JACK CRIPPEN SENIOR CENTER
The State of California's annual Homeowner's and Renter's assistance program is currently available. Under this program, homeowner's are eligible to receive a portion of the property taxes assessed on their homes; and renters can receive a reimbursement based on a portion of the property taxes paid indirectly through rent payments. To take advantage of this once-a-year reimbursement you must meet all of these requirements:
• Have owned or rented and lived in your residence in California on December 31, 2007.
• Be age 62 or older, or blind, or disabled.
• Be a United States Citizen, designated alien or qualified alien.
•Have total household in-come of $44,096 or less.
Claims may be filed from July 2008 through June 2009.
