Scanning the Majors

  The Manny Ramirez era has gotten off to a roaring start in L.A. as Dodger fans have had to scramble to remember what it's called when a Dodger hits the baseball and it goes over that wall in the outfield. He's certainly talking and playing like someone who wants to stay and get paid in L.A. Whether that's a prudent move on the Dodgers' part or not remains to be seen, but enjoy the ride while it lasts.

   Arizona fired back in response to the Ramirez acquisition by trading for former Reds slugger Adam Dunn on Monday. Having been claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks, Dunn went to Arizona for a prospect and two players to be named later. This is a steal for the D'backs as they get the NL leader in home runs and he is currently second in walks. Closed-minded baseball dinosaurs will point to his strikeouts and batting average, but he gets on base at a good rate and...
